PAMP: A History Of Value Throughout the World

Every minted bullion name has a story, technology or unique selling point. The PAMP SA (Produits Artistiques Métaux Précieux) is one of a few refiners in the world, if not the only one that can claim to have it all.

It all started in 1977 in Ticino, Switzerland as a minting refiner of bars weighing less than 100 grams, as well as an alloy specialist for the Jewellery industry.

Today as a subsidiary of the MKS Group, PAMP SA produces bullion products from 1 gram all the way to 12,5 kilograms bar.

PAMP SA is one of three companies’ Approved Good Delivery Referees’ in the world designated by the LBMA and the LPPM. It is the only Swiss refiner holding ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 17025, OHSAS 18001 and SA8000 accreditations. Those credentials have also led the company to offer private custom minted services to government and private businesses, extending its product range from small bullion bars and medals to legal tender coins.

The natural progression from manufacturing small-size bars which were less than 100 grams to today’s products was a thoughtful process that took many years.

The rise

Before 1979 PAMP SA strictly manufactured minted bars and finally introduced seven rectangular bars in several weights such as 100 g, 50 g, 20 g, 10 g, 5 g, 1 oz, and 1/2 oz. The range saw itself quickly extended when in 1984, they started producing cast bars of 1 kilogram.

In 1995, as the first accredited refiners, the company issued a range of oval minted bars in 7 different weights, ranging from 1 g to 50 g. and in 2010, 1000 g, 500 g and 250 g minted bars were issued.

Diversity

PAMP SA has also introduced minted bars that are also commemorable while bringing a sense of art and beauty, such as the “The Lunar Calendar Series,” launched in 2011, as well as the “Year of the Dragon” bars in 2012.

Keeping the brand credible and innovative, with a playful flare to attract fashion-conscious consumers, PAMP SA brought to the world the capacity to wear your gold bars as a pendant with the launch of “Talisman” bars, also very stylish products like “icOns” bars, “Elements” bars and “Anim-Mates” bars.

Since its start, PAMP SA has developed not only a reputable name recognized and respected all over the world but also an extensive portfolio of more than 50 optional designs ranging from flowers, birds and animals to Zodiac signs, Hindu Gods and the Buddha.

In addition to their gold production, PAMP SA manufactures bullion in many other precious metals such as Palladium, Platinum and Silver within the different formats as gold.
