The design for this Buffalo Silver Round is inspired by the original coin ---s artwork created by sculptor James Earle Fraser during the presidency of William H. Taft. This design has a rich history behind it. Fraser utilized his childhood memories of travelling through Minnesota and the Dakotas with his father, interacting with the American Bison ( ---buffalo ----) and Native American tribes. Additionally, three Native American chiefs posed for the portrait on the obverse. The original Buffalo Silver coin known as ---Indian Head Nickel ---- was minted in 1913-1937 and is considered one of the best coins in American coinage.
