1 oz Gold Queen Elizabeth II’s Royal Cypher Coin
The Royal Cypher of Queen Elizabeth II, one of the most recognizable symbols of her reign, was the monarch's personal identifier and has been prominently featured on Canadian orders, medals, and badges. For 70 years, it symbolized sovereignty in Canada. This 99.99% pure gold tribute commemorates Queen Elizabeth II â„¢s historic reign and her role in modernizing the monarchy while preserving tradition.
The reverse design showcases the Royal Cypher, combining Queen Elizabeth II ™s initials, "E II" (Elizabeth II), with the "R" for Regina (Latin for "Queen") and an image of St. Edward ™s Crown. Surrounding the cypher are shapes inspired by the gold beads and gem clusters of the crown, with four larger shapes representing the different effigies on Canadian coins since 1953. Double dated to honor her reign, the obverse features a Tudor rose and the four effigies: the 2003-2022 design by Susanna Blunt, the 1990-2002 effigy by Dora de Pédery-Hunt, the 1965-1989 effigy by Arnold Machin, and the 1953-1964 effigy by Mary Gillick.
