Ship or bring your scrap
For safe shipping, we can arrange for you to send your material to us via secured and insured delivery using either Brinks, GFG, Parcel Pro. Please call us and we will make all the arrangements to have your parcel shipped to us securely and in the least expensive method. Alternatively, you can come to our premises at 215 Victoria St., Suite 400 where you are in a high-security location in the heart of downtown Toronto. We can arrange to receive your shipment securely from the main level.
Melting and testing
With Express Gold Refining, you can trust the final melt. Our skilled technical advisors ensure precise handling and recovery of all precious metals. Our workshop is equipped with six induction and gas furnaces of varying sizes to accommodate different lots. Witness the entire melting process, from weighing to pouring, and even take a sample for assay confirmation.
For dust and sweeps jobs, we use an environmentally certified burn-off oven on-site to process your material. You’re invited to load the oven and observe as your material is unloaded into the crusher. Feel free to take a sample for assay at this stage.
For Dental and Platinum Group Metals, we employ specialized techniques to melt your material into a homogeneous bar. At Express Gold Refining, we ensure thorough melting, even if it requires multiple attempts. Occasionally, copper may be added to prepare the bar for accurate sampling
Get paid money or bullion
After we melt it, we assay it, and if we agree on the price, we can buy it from you. The price depends on two things: The metal price of the day and the Assay results.
Although we prefer to complete the entire transaction for you, we can melt your material and charge you for it separately. If you come back to refine the melted bar with us, we will refund you a portion of that fee.
